I lost my child at the carnival that day
She wore a red dress
She wore a blye ribbon
She held a cotton candy and said she likes prison
I turned around to see my child
I saw on the mirror her ponytail and smile
I lost my child at the carnival that night
She held my hand and stood tall and smiled
I left my glasses on the shelf
A metal frame that hung heavy on my neck
She sat on the merry go and stared into my eyes
I let go her hand and sat on the next horse
She turned back to look at me
I sat at the tower long above me
I looked at her and she looked at me
While I sat at the tower long above me
I lost my child at the carnival that day
Like I lost my blue ribbon when I let her go
